Bahrain wants to join BRICS Plus

Bahrain believes that joining BRICS will bolster its position in the region and in the world in terms of economic development and security, according to the kingdom's ambassador to the Russian Federation, Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, who spoke to RIA Novosti.
Bahrain has officially expressed its desire to join BRICS, stating that the addition of membership in various organizations, including BRICS, to their portfolio is useful. It is crucial to be among the countries that are members of BRICS to play a decisive role in the region's development and economy. The agency's interlocutor made these comments on the sidelines of the V International BRICS+ municipal forum.

BRICS currently consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. At the August Johannesburg summit, it was announced that Argentina, Egypt, Iran, Ethiopia, the UAE and Saudi Arabia would be invited to join the organization as full members from January 1, 2024.
In May, Belarus requested admission to the BRICS association from its members.
