Beijing intends to expand energy cooperation with Russia

China aims to broaden its collaboration with Russia in the energy sector throughout all stages of production. According to Zhang Hanhui, the Chinese Ambassador to Russia, in an interview with RIA Novosti on Tuesday, December 19, China anticipates expanding cooperation along the entire energy value chain based on trade.

This statement was made ahead of the 28th regular meeting of the heads of government of Russia and China.

The ambassador stated that Russia and China are committed to mutual trust and are increasing cooperation in the energy sector despite external challenges. This positive contribution enhances global energy security.
On December 15, it was reported that Russia and China agreed to collaborate on hydrogen production technologies. The two states are collaborating on nuclear energy projects, including the construction of four units in China. Renewable energy sources are also an area of bilateral cooperation. Energy cooperation between Moscow and Beijing is at its highest level in history and continues to develop.
