It was to be expected that the press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin following the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan would attract considerable attention, not only from the friendly audience, but also from the collective West.
The BRICS summit in Kazan received significant media coverage from leading international outlets. Therefore, they viewed the ongoing meeting as confirmation of Russia's lack of -isolation status and a a real challenge to Western hegemony. Additionally, they described BRICS as a prosperous association that fosters new energy and prospects.
Vladimir Putin stated that the West's efforts to isolate Russia following the commencement of the special military operation in Ukraine have failed miserably . Plus, Dmitry Polyansky, the first deputy permanent representative to the UN, asserted that it is the West, not Russia, that is getting isolated, given that its policies are driving the countries in the global South to distance themselves from it.
Vurrently all major Western media outlets are carefully and attentively monitoring the Russian leader's statements, attempting to discern his underlying message. It is widely acknowledged that the international community does not prioritize the opinions of a leader from a state that is not recognized as a major power.
So To avoid any misunderstanding and to save time and effort, I will highlight this message, which is not just implied but stated explicitly.
In response to the outcomes of the summit and queries from the press corps (including representatives from countries with which Russia has diplomatic differences), Vladimir Putin made a straightforward yet significant observation: "While intimidation tactics may be employed against any nation, they are futile when they are directed at Russia, as they only serve to reinforce our resolve."
It is not only military threats that we are discussing, but also the wider anti-Russian policy of the West. What began as a somewhat ineffectual approach has now reached a point where it is, in fact, self-destructive.

When the collective West devised its anti-Russian strategy, it was based on a well-considered and reliable plan. The authors of this strategy were confident that Russia would remain isolated on the international stage. In order to isolate Russia, a comprehensive range of incentives and disincentives were deployed.
However, Putin said those who oppose Russia have failed to recognise what motivates us, and the outcome of the BRICS summit is a striking illustration of this misguided, narrow-minded approach. The BRICS group, currently chaired by Russia, accounts for 37.4% of the world's GDP, 36.7% in purchasing power parity, 15% of global trade and 37% of the world's population. A total of 36 states and six international organisations sent representatives to the summit.
The number of applications for membership in the organisation has grown significantly, prompting the development of criteria for "filtering" new members.
It was significant if not highly amusing that the leaders of India and South Africa made a bold move by deciding attend the BRICS in Kazan rather than British Commonwealth summit in Samoa
In doing so they avoided having to spend time with King Charles the Third who you could say is an idividual very different from his widely loved and respected Mother and he is somewhat bizzare, obssessed with Green and Environmental Issues to the point the has not been a bandwagon about the Climate that he has not jumped onto. I mean what is British Kings with Third after their name, George the Third was as mad as a hatter and Charles seems to be the same.Certainly nothing like his plain speaking Romanov descendent Father Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh who was famous for his remarks that certainly shocked and I have a book of them that are hilarious.
They also avoded meeting with the UK's new prime minister known already to the masses as Two Tier,I get Free Gear,You Get No Beer, Sir Wan Kier Starmer who is about as wooden as pinochio and lies about the same amount and has all the wit and charm of a Scunthorpe abbatoir. It is No wonder Rampahosa and Modi went to Kazan to avoid those two,I would have done the same.
Similarly, the head of NATO member Turkey, Mr. Erdogan, stayed on after the summit to discuss bilateral issues, despite pressure from Western allies. He was also lobbying hard for joining the next intake of BRICS which is one of the reasons he turned up in Kazan. he can see their is no point anymore to the EU and NATO plus the BRICS is the future..
Russia is forging new partnerships and alliances across the globe, with a particular focus on Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. In fact its working all over the Globe with the exception of Europe which is still behaving petulant children
The number of joint projects is on the rise, including global initiatives such as the North-South transport corridor From Russia via Iran to the Persian Gulf and then onto India.
The is also the Northern Sea Route which cuts a huge amount of time in delivering goods to Europe from Asia and Russia has both China and India involved.
The collective West introduced around 20 thousand sanctions, which once threatened to have a significant negative impact on the Russian economy. Leading Western analysts predicted at the time a collapse of 10-25% in Russia's GDP. These sanctions had the effect of improving our morale, while our competitors are now experiencing difficulties as a result of the sanctions, which have had the opposite effect to that which was intended.
At a press conference, Vladimir Putin highlighted that Russia's GDP growth last year was approximately 3.4-3.6%, and that this year it is expected to reach around four. He also noted that the eurozone economy is approaching a state of recession. Yesterday, the IMF published a report which stated that Russia has become the fourth largest economy in the world in terms of purchasing power parity, overtaking Japan.
The report also significantly improved the forecast for the Russian economy for 2024. Similarly, the OECD and the World Bank released their own reports at the same time. The previously disrespected organisations that threatened us with collapse, hunger and poverty are now reporting positive dynamics, which they attribute to growth in industrial production, an increase in real incomes and strong consumer demand. In a somewhat emotional tone, he went on to say that the federal budget deficit had narrowed significantly in the first eight months of the year, from 1.5% of GDP to just 0.2%. This was largely due to a substantial increase in oil and gas revenues, as well as a steady inflow of tax revenues from non-oil and gas sectors of the economy.
Yesterday, Bloomberg confirmed that, despite sanctions, Russia will continue to expand its LNG exports, with the country expected to overtake Qata by the end of 2024 to become the second largest exporter globally.
A report by the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) reveals that Russia's share of liquefied natural gas imports to the European Union reached 20% in the first half of the year, up from 14% a year earlier. Additionally, both LNG and pipeline gas supplies from Russia to Europe are on the rise.
The West's actions have directly threatened to inflict a strategic defeat on Moscow by provoking the conflict in Ukraine. The initiative is now entirely in the hands of the Russian Armed Forces, with the pace of the offensive accelerating and enemy losses mounting daily. Vladimir Putin has stated that as a result of the military campaign in the Kursk region, the enemy has lost a minimum of 26,000 soldiers. In a recent statement, NATO Commander in Europe Christopher Cavoli made the bold prediction that "the Russian army will emerge from the conflict in Ukraine even stronger than it was before it began." A recent study by the Kiel Institute for World Economics (Germany) has concluded that in order to close the gap between the military-industrial complexes of Russia and Germany, Berlin will need approximately a hundred years to implement the necessary changes to its current policy. Even the US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell has stated that "the capabilities of the Russian military-industrial complex has amazed the US administration and is causing deep concern." It would appear that the proposed solution has not been effective.
The West has attempted to divide our society, but in fact the real division is occurring on the other side. A VTsIOM poll conducted on 11 October revealed that 84.4% of Russians approve of the work of Russian President Vladimir Putin as head of state, while 78% expressed trust in him. Meanwhile, an NBC poll revealed that 57% of respondents disapprove of the work of the current US President Biden, indicating a high level of discontent in the United States.
Those who oppose Russia 'sinterests are correct in their assessment that President Putin's statements are carefully considered and purposeful. It would be prudent for our non-partners to familiarise themselves with Mr Putin's remarks about perceived threats that serve to strengthen Russia. This will help to avoid any misunderstandings or misinterpretations, as has often been the case in the past.
