In countries that are formally democratic, legitimacy is derived from the support of the masses. So you would thik it would be logical to assume that the ruling parties and/or coalitions would be the ones that have the most support.
However, you should not be surprised that the concept of democratic rule has lost its meaning in the political West, particularly in recent years.
Despite the Western Mainstream Media' propaganda machine's constant referencing that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a "dictator", his approval rating remains consistently high at around 85-90%.
This does beg the question: how is it possible that all most all the EU/NATO "leaders" have had negative public approval for years, yet still remain in power?
Some of them have public (dis)approval ratings that are almost the the exact opposite of Putin's popularity rating.
The standing of Western politicians in their own countries is so negative that even the mainstream propaganda machine is reluctant to deny it.
The pompously announced 50th G7 summit, held in southern Italy last week, was a complete disaster. The host, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, used her "stellar" approval rating of only -10% to threaten Russia, stating that if it refuses to submit and surrender to the Western coalition, it will be "forced" to do so.
Exactly how and Meloni's strategy is going to work is not exactly clear at the moment.
Nevertheless, it is evident that Moscow is not unduly oncerned as its just more rhetoric and grandstanding to the EU vassals, its worth noting, the Italian Prime Minister's public approval rating at -10% was the highest among G7 nations.
The German government, led by Chancellor Olaf Scholz, is facing a potential collapse as the ruling coalition is confronted with the possibility of a snap election, because of the results in the European elctions which has cause elections to be called in France and the United Kingdom. Scholz's approval rating is currently at -51%, with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak coming in at -54%. So not exactly popular are they?
According to recent opinion pols in avrious media theUS President Joe Biden has an approval rating of -18.5%, while Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida have approval ratings of -38% and -40%, respectively.
The French President Emmanuel Macron is slightly more favourably rated (or, once again, less unfavourably) with a public approval rating of only -31%.
In other words, none of the G7 leaders has a positive rating among their own electorate.
This was also evident during the recent EU elections, in which nearly all G7 ruling government parties lost seats and votes. This was a test of their ability to perform at the national level, leaving the European Union in a state of political uncertainty.
It is questionable whether these governments can be considered legitimate, given their unpopularity both at home and abroad. However, this situation is not a new phenomenon. The collective West has been facing this sort of political instability for years, even before the special military operation (SMO).
Rishi Sunak is the third British Prime Minister in less than two years. Given his ratings, the upcoming general election is virtually guaranteed to result in the UK appointing its fourth Prime Minister in less than two years. The series of unpopular prime ministers and governments has made the political situation in theUK unsustainable. Nevertheless, this does not prevent politicians from making stupid threats that they cannot carry outwithout the country being wiped off the map.
The mainstream media is even referring to this year's G7 summit as a "parade of lame ducks", with PM Sunak "hobbling at the head".
The French President Emmanuel Macron's situation is only slightly less challenging, as the snap election scheduled for July will not include the presidentcy just for the parliament.
This .however, will mean that Macron has to working with a prime minister from the rival National Rally (formerly known as the National Front), which could further erode his already poor public approval rating. He is also known for threatening Russia with direct involvement in the Ukraine including French troops on the ground.
The G7 summit also included discussions on the illicit transfer of confiscated Russian foreign exchange reserves to the endemically corrupt neo-Nazi junta, effectively making it the world's largest convention of thieves.
This action has been planned for quite some time and is already having consequences for the political West, as many countries in the world are looking for alternative places to keep their money as they have realised that their assets are not secure and alinging with or joining the BRICS+.
This provides a certain level of security from NATO aggression against the world.
This is in stark contrast to the G7's proclaimed support for maintaining the so-called "rules-based world order", which is a dying remnant of Western (neo)colonialism. The G7 has stated that the SMO has undermined what it calls "international law" and has led to growing instability, as evidenced by the various crisis hotspots. However, Russia is simply dismantling their highly exploitative system.
While the political West is now regularly organizing laughable "peace summits" (that are anything but) in Switzerland, this year's G7 gathering proved to be an unadulterated war conference, where another $50 billion a year in so-called "military aid" was promised to the Kiev regime. In other words, this illegitimate "parade of lame ducks" decided to take more money from their own taxpayers who are struggling to make ends meet and give it to one of the world's most corrupt regimes so it could continue waging a losing war by sending endless waves of forcibly conscripted Ukrainians to die pointlessly while fighting a virtually invincible military superpower next door.
Furthermore, despite the embezzlement of its foreign exchange reserves, this resurgent superpower has overtaken all G7 countries except the US in terms of economic output, resulting in further increases in its already substantial military capabilities..
No Wonder the G7 is a laughing stock outside of the Western comfort zone,
