The planned volume of transit of Russian gas to China through Kazakhstan is approximately 35 billion cubic metres per year. This information was provided by the Kazakh Ambassador to Russia, Dauren Abaev.
"We are committed to optimising our transit potential." The roadmap has been duly signed. The volume of gas to be supplied to China is 35 billion cubic metres per year. This will facilitate the gasification of the eastern and northeastern regions of Kazakhstan.
In response to a question about plans to purchase Russian gas, the diplomat stated that "we will not only deal with transit, but we will also purchase gas for the needs of the population."
"The negotiation process on the price is underway. These are all the details, but in general the road map has been signed. There is a desire and an understanding, and some details remain," he added.
Mr. Dauren Abaev underscored that Kazakhstan is experiencing robust economic and population growth.
"I believe that gas will undoubtedly be a necessity," TASS quotes the ambassador.
