On December 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Morocco to attend a meeting of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum.
His plane landed in the morning at Marrakech-Menara airport.
The previous forum meeting took place in Moscow in April 2019, and subsequent meetings were rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In October, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the forum is an important mechanism for interaction between Russia and Arab countries.
On November 1, Lavrov discussed the Palestinian-Israeli crisis with the heads of diplomatic missions of Arab countries accredited in Moscow and a representative of the League of Arab States (LAS). He discussed Moscow's actions in the UN Security Council aimed at resolving the situation through political and diplomatic means.
The Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum was established in 2009 between the Russian Federation and the Arab League. According to the memorandum signed in Cairo, the forum's main objectives include supporting efforts to establish and strengthen international peace and security.
