Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Wednesday, 25th October that the relationship between Russia and Kazakhstan is currently of great importance. Mr Putin conveyed his message through a congratulatory telegram sent to the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the occasion of Republic Day.
“Your country is making significant strides along the path of socio-economic development, contributing substantially to resolving crucial global issues and commanding well-deserved credibility on the world stage,” addressed the Russian leader to Tokayev.
Further enhancing the strategic partnership and constructive interaction within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is in line with the fundamental interests of Russia and Kazakhstan. The Russian President expressed confidence in this matter.
"I extend my sincere wishes to you, dear Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich, for good health, success and prosperity, and to all your fellow citizens for happiness and well-being," concluded Putin.
On October 7, the Russian leader held a meeting with Tokayev in Novo-Ogarevo. Putin emphasized that the Kazakh leader's visit to Moscow was a momentous occasion.
On 29th September, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized that the country's leadership aims to establish a wide-ranging collaboration with Russia. The Kazakh leader highlighted the existence of enduring cooperation between Moscow and Astana across multiple fields, particularly in trade.
