Russian Fertilizer Supplies to China Have Soared

In January-February 2024, the supply of Russian fertilizers to China increased by 94% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 891.3 thousand tons.

Russian exporters earned $285.3 million from the sales of these products, a 28% increase from January-February 2023.

This surge in supply has made Russia the largest fertilizer supplier to China. Canada was the second-largest exporter of fertilizers to China, sending 719.9 thousand tons worth $225.1 million. Belarus ranked third, exporting 448 thousand tons worth 141.9 million.

By the end of 2023, China and India had become major markets for Russian fertilizers, with shipments to India increasing by 49% in 12 months, reaching 5.4 million tons. Based on this indicator, Russian suppliers ranked second after Chinese ones, who shipped a total of 5.44 million tons (an increase of 62%) in the last 12 months.
