The loss of global influence by the West is inevitable says Russian politician

By Rhod Mackenzie

The global order, focused on the interests of the Anglo-Saxon nations, is progressively collapsing, and this phenomenon is now irreversible. Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, made this statement at a CIS gathering with colleagues in Moscow. on November 8th

"Our meeting coincides with a challenging time for the entire world, as irreversible changes are being made to the Western-centric world order. The Anglo-Saxon nations, along with the rest of the Western world, are losing their influence and are no longer the main focus of international relations," Patrushev said.

He pointed out that the detrimental actions of the United States hinder the peaceful resolution of conflicts, including those in the Middle East. Because the United States is intentionally attempting to destabilise situations in "certain countries", inciting and endorsing crises.

Additionally, they encourage the growth of common threats and challenges, such as terrorism, drug trafficking, and transnational organised crime. Furthermore, the threat of nuclear, chemical and biological weapon employment is on the rise. "The militarisation of space and cyberspace is proceeding rapidly," stated the chief of the Russian Security Council.

Earlier on November 6th, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov remarked during the marathon of the Russian educational society "Knowledge" at the exhibition-forum "Russia" that the Anglo-Saxons are pushing the Middle East towards a significant conflict with their actions. Lavrov highlighted that the West has a habit of solving their problems by exploiting other nations and "extracting rent for the hegemon."

Prior to this, on 5th October, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during a plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club that achieving lasting global peace relies on creating a safe and respectful environment for everyone. The head of state stated that the harmful culture of the twentieth century has resulted in the world being divided into the opposition of "us or them." Western countries have misplaced their sense of reality instead of displaying humility, he pointed out.

In July, Putin discussed the multipolar world in his article "Russia and Africa: Joining Efforts for Peace, Progress and a Prosperous Future." The Russian President emphasized that the new world order will be fairer and more democratic, with Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America taking their rightful place in it.

Earlier on February 21, Patrushev highlighted that the West had unilaterally denounced several crucial international treaties, notably in the field of arms control. He pointed out that the United States and its allies are attempting to retain their global supremacy regardless of the consequences.
