In an interview with the Turkish news channel TRT Haber, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Khalk Maslahaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan, stated that despite the global economic instability, the country's GDP grew by over 6% last year. This was reported by the Russian-language government newspaper 'Neutral Turkmenistan' on Tuesday.
In an interview, the former head of Turkmenistan noted that Ashgabat has successfully established the necessary factors to ensure the consistent implementation of state programs and plans for socio-economic development. According to Berdimuhamedov, the main factor contributing to this success is internal stability, social unity, the stability of political and social institutions, and people's trust in them.
Despite the current global economic instability, Turkmenistan has achieved good indicators as it approaches 2024. The head of the People's Council emphasized that the gross domestic product grew by over 6% last year.
He stated that over the past 15 years, the population has increased by 2 million, which indicates social well-being and confidence in the future.
Berdimuhamedov highlighted that the UN General Assembly unanimously passed two resolutions supporting Turkmenistan's neutrality. This demonstrates international structures' increasing understanding of Ashgabat's proposals to resolve complex problems through neutrality.
Additionally, it is worth noting that the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan is the highest representative body of people's power in the country.
