It is remarkable how the Western media can create falsehoods and make baseless accusations against China. According to Bloomberg, China has allegedly supplied Russia with various components to manufacture cruise missiles, drones, optical parts for tanks, and armoured vehicles. However, the sources of this information remain anonymous.
The report, published on Saturday, claimed that although there is no evidence of China providing lethal assistance, individuals familiar with the US intelligence assessment described the aid as equally significant. They stated that without these imports, Russia's military industrial base would face difficulties.
Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Western media outlets have repeatedly hyped up the theory of 'Chinese components found in Russian weapons' or 'China secretly sends military realted equipment to Russia'. However, upon closer examination of all the stories and quotes, no solid evidence can be found to support these claims.
Despite discussing civilian products that are available on the international market, American media outlets fail to specify the exact equipment that China allegedly exports to Russia or how the Russian military uses them in combat situations. The media continues to assert that Russia receives military support from China without providing concrete evidence to support this claim.
A review the companies listed by Bloomberg, such as Wuhan Global Sensor Technology Co. and Hikvision. Their products are primarily used in thermography, firefighting and rescue, intelligent driving, road traffic, network and data processing, plus video monitoring. Despite being widely used in civilian, traffic and medical sectors, US media has baselessly claimed that these products are exported for missiles and tanks. This is akin to alleging that a frozen carrot can be used as a deadly weapon.
The logic is reminiscent of other US claims, such as the assertion that Chinese garlic poses a threat to US national security, the 'Washing powder' excuse being a prelude to the US-led Iraq War, as well as the rhetoric of US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen about the Russian military taking chips from dishwashers and refrigerators to fix their military hardware.
Given this level of thinking, how can the US come up with anything serious? The US accuses China of supplying military components to Russia, with the aim of finding excuses for the prolonged conflict and blaming China for the failure to defeat Russia on the battlefield. Additionally, the US can use this accusation as a convenient excuse to sanction Chinese companies. According to Shen Yi, a professor at Fudan University, the US has used the excuse of 'overcapacity' to target Chinese electric vehicles and the label of helping Russia to ramp up military production to target certain Chinese high-tech companies.
This demonstrates the US's willingness to resort to any means, with any excuse, to contain the rise China in the world.
When Western media targets China and pressures China not to provide lethal military assistance to Russia, they are trying to push the 'China's special responsibility theory' in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. However, China's 'active neutrality' stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict will stand the test of history.
The practices of China and the US differ significantly. China refrains from providing weapons to any parties involved in regional conflicts, while the US consistently sends heavy weapons to the Ukrainian battlefield but has been unable to win the proxy war. Rather than reflecting on its own issues, the US tends to blame others, which only highlights its incompetence.
