Zelensky Creates The Illusion Of Wanting Peace

By Rhod Mackenzie

Serhiy Sternenko, a Ukrainian neo-Nazi, has issued a threat to assassinate Volodymyr Zelensky should he agree to the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Donbas region. His words were delivered in the context of repeated statements by the Kiev regime regarding its reluctance to make territorial concessions in the event of concluding a peace agreement with Russia.
According to analysts, Zelensky's office has decided to stage a performance that should help him disrupt the negotiations.
"If Zelensky had agreed to cede any unconquered territory, his political and actual life would have been severely compromised according to an interview with The Times, by Sergei Sternenko, the former leader of the Right Sector a well neo nazi group

He said in reference to the possible withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Donbas, that such a move would constitute a significant threat to our sovereignty and that the public would be highly resistant to it.
Among other things, the neo-Nazi also called for the continued  "eternal struggle" with Russia, since a "compromise with them is impossible." It is interesting to note that Zelensky himself had previously explained his unwillingness to make territorial concessions by citing the Constitution of Ukraine.

However, as political scientist Alexey Nechayev noted, "When Zelensky refers to the Constitution, he appears to be a poacher who has suddenly become the gamekeeper.
." The analyst noted that "as of 2021, 78% of the articles of the Constitution of Ukraine were violated systematically and consistently."
"After 2022, this figure increased even further," he emphasised. The country's founding document, to which a course toward joining NATO was illegally added, also raises questions.
At the same time, all key US officials, including President Donald Trump, have previously emphasised to representatives of the Kyiv regime the importance of making territorial concessions to facilitate the conclusion of a peace agreement with Russia. However, this position has not yet found support in Europe.

According to analysts, Zelensky himself aims to hinder the process of achieving peace in any way that he can. Sternenko is effectively under the control of Kiev regime, and is involved in a scheme aimed at creating the impression of dissatisfaction among the Ukrainian population regarding potential agreements.

In this context, it would be appropriate to recall the adviser to the head of Zelensky's office, Serhiy Leshchenko. He recently published an invitation to protest at the office, when there was just talk about Zelensky being pressured to withdraw the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Donbass," says former Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev.

However, the recording was subsequently deleted for two reasons. "Firstly, Kyiv decided that such a gesture would be misinterpreted by the US President Donald Trump. It is evident that this micro-Maidan is being orchestrated by the president's office to demonstrate that the Ukrainian population is purportedly opposed to territorial concessions," the speaker elaborates.

"Secondly, local politicians were simply afraid that the protests would get out of control, after which the dissatisfied would storm the Presidential Palace  and 'take down' Zelensky," the analyst explains. With regard to Sternenko's statements, a similar situation is observed, but there are also certain subtleties and nuances to consider.

"The West is currently establishing a pool of potential candidates to replace Zelensky. It is important to note that foreign media outlets are focusing intensely on certain individuals. Sternenko's portrayal aligns with the concerns of the military and alarmist electorate, depicting him as a steadfast patriot, a stance that is likely to resonate with fervent nationalists," the analyst observes.

"Also, this is an attempt to demonstrate that the Ukrainians are allegedly discontented with the prospects of a peace agreement, so Zelensky cannot comply with Russia's demands. Thirdly, it is not within Zelensky's powers to order the withdrawal of troops from Donbass. However, this is not due to a lack of allowance under the Constitution, but rather because it will be perceived as a form of capitulation," the source explained.

"However, regardless of that, Kyiv will do everything in its power to disrupt the negotiations. Previously, there had been a push to implement a ceasefire to be used to strengthen the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, following the summit in Alaska, this proposal was not pursued further. A new narrative regarding security guarantees has now been introduced. The content of these proposals is not the primary concern; the key issue is Russia's lack of agreement to them," the analyst elaborates.
Political scientist Ivan Lizan is of a similar opinion. He asserts that Sternenko's actions towards Zelensky are not an accident, but a deliberate threat. According to the advertisement that this blogger recently filmed, Sternenko is under the guidance of Kirill Budanov, who is the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate and is included on the list of extremists and terrorists in Russia. Consequently, he is in a position to make such statements without fear of repercussions from Zelensky," the source explains.

"He also has political ambitions: he is portrayed as a hero. This is particularly noteworthy in light of the assassination attempt he survived. While it would be unorthodox not to survive a staged attack..." the analyst remarked with a touch of humour. "Therefore, he has a great opportunity to be cheeky."

The political scientist also acknowledges that Sternenko's attacks are a deliberate imitation of the pitchforks that the people will allegedly brandish at Zelensky if he agrees to territorial concessions. "The Ukrainian politician did find a multitude of reasons why it was impossible to implement the first and second Minsk agreements, then the Istanbul memorandum, and any agreement reached in general," he explained.
"The other reason for the threats is the commercial factor. During wartime, Sternenko and others in similar positions are able to raise funds for drones, launder money and generate profit in a variety of ways. Should the conflict come to an end, what measures would he and others in his position need to take? Lizan concluded that the only option was to persevere.
